Job summary

The KYO Group in Ohio is seeking an Embedded Controls Engineer (Non-Skillbridge) to design, develop, and sustain embedded control hardware and firmware for ULT and related products. You will work closely with R&D, product engineering, and manufacturing teams to deliver reliable, compliant systems.

Responsibilities include PCBA design, schematics, firmware in C/C++, test methods, and cross‑functional collaboration.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
• 0-2 years hands-on embedded control systems experience.
• Experience with high-speed circuit design (USB, Ethernet, LVDS).
• Firmware and software development for electronic controls.
• Familiarity with Lean / PPI methodologies and continuous improvement.
• Familiarity with IEC 60601 design practices and other electrical safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop embedded control PCBA and associated circuits for ULT freezers and cold storage platforms.
• Create schematics, design analysis, bill of materials, assembly drawings, and other required documentation.
• Develop performance and qualification test methods, coordinate experiments, and evaluate results.
• Develop controller firmware and HMI designs using embedded C and C++/Qt.
• Ensure electrical systems meet customer requirements, time-to-market, and cost targets.
• Collaborate with refrigeration and mechanical engineering teams throughout the NPD process.
• Support testing with contract manufacturers and across global facilities.
• Contribute to roadmaps for components and subsystems.
• Participate in design reviews for requirements, schematics, layouts, and analyses.
• Ensure regulatory and certification compliance (UL, IEC, FDA).
• Travel: Up to 10% domestic travel.
