Job summary

AeroVironment, Inc. is seeking a Lead Software Engineer to guide the LEAP group in developing innovative computer vision and analytics for defense and commercial applications. Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required in CS/EE/Math/Physics or equivalent
• 8–12 years of software engineering experience
• Proficiency in C/C++ with strong data structures and OOP
• Experience with CMake and modern C++ build systems
• Proficiency in Python for tooling and prototyping
• Experience with Ubuntu/CentOS Linux
• Experience with unit tests and debugging
• Familiarity with Git and IDEs
• Experience with DDS, gRPC; Rust preferred

Responsibilities

• Implements and optimizes computer vision and perception algorithms in C++ for low-SWaP processors
• Supports testing and demonstration of components and integrated systems
• Develops documentation and reports for customers and stakeholders
• Creates software design documentation per process requirements
• Writes and tests code, contributes to process improvements
• Delivers work on time and within schedule and budget
• Collaborates with other developers to reuse software across programs
• Mentors less experienced engineers and drives technical changes
