Job summary

HireHawk Inc. is seeking a highly organized Email & SMS Manager to own day-to-day retention marketing execution for a Beauty/e-commerce brand.

You will build and manage the email/SMS calendar, develop flow and campaign strategies, QA campaigns, and analyze performance to uncover opportunities to grow retention and revenue. Work closely with Head of Growth to operate independently, maintain project organization, and proactively identify issues and opportunities.

Qualifications

• 3+ years hands-on Email & SMS experience in DTC/e-commerce.
• Strong copy and messaging instincts for lifecycle campaigns.
• Experience with Klaviyo or similar lifecycle platforms.
• Highly organized with ability to create structure and schedules.
• Comfortable using Notion and Figma to draft briefs and flow maps.

Responsibilities

• Own weekly Email & SMS calendar.
• Build and optimize lifecycle flows (Welcome, Abandoned Browse, Abandoned Cart, Checkout, Post-Purchase, Winback).
• Develop campaign concepts, messaging, segmentation.
• Translate strategy into briefs for the Email Designer.
• QA campaigns before launch and ensure quality across channels.
• Review copy, links, CTAs, segmentation, personalization, offers, rendering and tracking; ensure customer experience.
• Monitor campaigns after launch and flag issues quickly.
• Own weekly Email & SMS reporting and KPI tracking.
• Provide actionable recommendations based on performance; communicate trends.
• Collaborate with strategy, copy, and design teams; maintain a clear testing roadmap.

We're looking for a highly organized, hands-on Email & SMS Manager to own the day-to-day execution and optimization of our retention marketing program.

This person will be responsible for building and managing our email and SMS calendar, developing flow and campaign strategies, working closely with our Email Designer, QAing campaigns before launch, analyzing performance, and proactively identifying opportunities to improve retention and revenue.

You'll work closely with the Head of Growth and should be comfortable operating independently, keeping projects organized, and bringing forward issues and opportunities rather than waiting to be asked.

What you'll do

Email & SMS Strategy & Execution

• Own the weekly and monthly Email & SMS calendar.
• Build and optimize key lifecycle flows, including Welcome, Abandoned Browse, Abandoned Cart, Checkout, Post-Purchase, Winback, and other retention flows.
• Develop campaign concepts, messaging, segmentation.
• Translate strategy into clear briefs and proposals for the Email Designer.
• Work closely with the designer to ensure campaigns are executed according to brief.
• Manage campaigns from concept through launch.

QA & Optimization

• Own the full QA process before emails and SMS go live.
• Review copy, links, CTAs, segmentation, personalization, offers, mobile/desktop rendering, tracking, and overall customer experience.
• Monitor campaigns after launch and flag any issues quickly.

Reporting & Insights

• Own weekly Email & SMS reporting.
• Track key KPIs and clearly communicate performance, trends, and areas of concern.
• Provide actionable recommendations, not just numbers.
• 3+ years of hands-on Email & SMS experience, ideally within DTC/e-commerce.
• Strong experience with Klaviyo and/or other lifecycle marketing platforms.
• Highly organized and detail-oriented. You naturally create structure where there isn't any.
• Strong copy and messaging instincts, even if you're not the person designing the emails.
• Comfortable working in Notion and Figma to create campaign proposals, briefs, flow maps, and presentations.
• Strong QA mindset. You catch things before they become problems.
• Proactive and comfortable working independently.
