Job summary

Paperless Post is seeking an Email Operations Specialist to own the day-to-day creation and delivery of marketing emails and support lifecycle flows. You’ll work on a growth marketing team in NYC, balancing hands-on production with testing and optimization.

The role emphasizes technical email production, personalized content, and data-driven improvements, with a NYC-based hybrid schedule and a compensation range aligned to NYC norms.

Qualifications

• 2–4 years of proven experience in email marketing, including hands-on work in an ESP (Sailthru preferred)
• HTML/CSS email coding experience, including working with ESP scripting or templating languages (Zephyr preferred)
• Experience QA’ing emails across devices and email clients
• Experience with email testing tools (Litmus preferred)
• Strong understanding of email marketing best practices
• Knowledge of CAN-SPAM, GDPR
• Experience with marketing automation and personalization software and tools
• Proficiency in at least one customer data platform and data visualization tool (Looker preferred)
• Analytical mindset; comfortable using performance data to inform recommendations
• Strong technical proficiency; comfortable learning new systems
• Strong attention to detail and communication skills
• Genuine interest in email marketing and its technical side (coding, automation, etc.)

Responsibilities

• Execute day-to-day email campaign operations: prep image assets, code templates, build and segment lists, schedule sends, and set up tests
• Build responsive, personalized triggered email templates and support triggered flow setup in Sailthru
• Own QA of every send across devices, email clients, and environments
• Troubleshoot rendering and technical issues, including HTML templates, broken links, and list segmentation
• Explore and apply AI tools to work more efficiently across email operations
• Leverage ESP tools and Sailthru's scripting language (Zephyr) to deliver dynamic content
• Manage audience lists and maintain list hygiene through data cleansing to improve targeting accuracy
• Analyze campaign performance and contribute test and optimization ideas to inform future campaigns
• Partner with the team on campaign planning, bringing a technical and data-informed perspective
