Job summary

Washoe County School District seeks an English Language Learner (EL) Newcomer Program Teacher for Hug High School. The certified classroom teacher will deliver ESL/Bilingual instruction at the secondary level and implement district curriculum with fidelity.

Emphasizing high expectations, MTSS familiarity, and cultural competency, the role includes planning, assessment, and collaboration with staff to support multilingual learners.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university with student teaching experience.
• Three (3) years of verified contracted teaching experience with a Bachelor's Degree and the ability to obtain a valid Nevada teaching license.

Responsibilities

• Plans and prepares instruction aligned with Common Core standards and district policy.
• Maintains accurate records and participates in professional learning communities.
• Engages families and community partners to support student success.
• Demonstrates professionalism and ethical conduct in all interactions.
