Job summary

Washoe County School District seeks a classroom teacher for an Elementary-Middle-High School level at Hug High School. You will implement district policy and curriculum while teaching one or more subjects to diverse learners.

Requirements include a Bachelor''s Degree with student teaching, and three years of contracted teaching experience with the ability to obtain a Nevada teaching license. This is a limited-term position ending June 2027 with comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor''s degree with student teaching experience.
• Experience: Three (3) years of verified contracted teaching experience with a Bachelor''s Degree and the ability to obtain a valid teaching license in Nevada.
• Knowledge of: Child development; behavior and characteristics of students; subject area and/or credential area of teaching.
• Skill at: Creating an effective environment for learning, establishing and maintaining effective working relationships; use of technology in instruction; data-based decision making.

Responsibilities

• Plan and prepare lessons aligned with Common Core and district standards.
• Create a respectful, safe classroom environment and manage student behavior.
• Deliver engaging instruction and embed assessments within instruction.
• Maintain accurate records and collaborate with families and professional staff.
