Job summary

Rush Truck Centers is seeking Experienced Mobile Diesel Technicians to support client fleets with on-site service calls across the United States. Tenured technicians will maintain trucks and equipment, manage service truck inventory, and deliver expedited diagnostics and repairs.

Basic qualifications include a GED, 5 years' Class 7 & 8 dealership experience, and preferred certifications (Peterbilt, International, Ford, Hino, Isuzu, Cummins, ASE). CDL is preferred but not required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• 5 years' experience as a Class 7 & 8 technician in a dealership or related truck service facility.
• Current CDL preferred but not required.
• Medical card as required by FMVSS.
• Mechanical aptitude and technical ability is a must.
• Certifications: Peterbilt, International, Ford, Hino, Isuzu, Cummins, & ASE preferred & rewarded.

Responsibilities

• Maintain all aspects of equipment according to company standards.
• Perform basic maintenance including fueling, oil checks, cleanliness, and inspections.
• Manage service truck inventory and keep vehicle stocked.
• Report to the Service Manager and perform daily duties.
• Adhere to after-hours service availability and flexible schedule.
• Maintain tools and equipment for diesel truck maintenance.
• Read job orders and plan work procedures.
• Use diagnostic equipment to identify malfunctions and perform repairs.
• Diagnose and replace components such as injectors, pistons, bearings, brakes, and transmissions.
• Document work in the company computer system.
• Inspect protective guards and safety devices; adjust as needed.
• Lubricate moving parts and verify conformance to specs.
• Perform preventative maintenance as requested.
• Submit paperwork accurately and timely.
• Respond to customer inquiries and foster positive relations.
• Advise on repairs to be performed within 3 months.
• Participate in training and apply skills.
