Job summary

Veterinary Emergency Group is seeking an Emergency Credentialed Veterinary Technician in Omaha, NE to join our fast-paced ER team. You will triage, treat, monitor, and support patients while collaborating with veterinarians and staff to deliver compassionate care.

You’ll perform diverse procedures, manage anesthesia, assist with imaging and diagnostics, and provide emotional support to pet parents during stressful moments. Join VEG for growth, mentorship, and a meaningful impact.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; associate’s degree or higher in veterinary technology strongly preferred
• Credentialed Veterinary Technician (CVT, RVT, LVT, LVMT) in the state VEG practice is located
• 1+ years of experience in a veterinary technician role; emergency or specialty medicine preferred
• Basic computer skills and understanding of practice management software and EMR keeping
• Excellent communicator and calm under pressure; ready to support those around you
• Fine motor skills for handling patients and medical equipment; able to lift up to 25 kg
• Able to work nights, weekends, and holidays on a rotating basis based on hospital needs
• Able to work in a noisy environment with strong odors

Responsibilities

• Treat every patient and person like they matter and stay by their side through tests and treatments
• Deliver nursing care, treatments, and emotional support from triage to discharge
• Manage medications, monitoring, and advanced interventions
• Communicate as a teammate and help shape care plans to keep care flowing
• Perform CPR when needed and participate in advanced emergency training
• Handle diagnostics, imaging, sample collection, and tube placements
• Assist anesthesia, including for fragile patients, with various techniques
