Job summary

Vertiv is seeking a Field Engineer - Electrical Testing (NETA III/IV) to lead acceptance, commissioning, and maintenance testing of high- and medium-voltage power systems. Travel up to 75% for regional and national projects.

You will work with top-tier equipment from Doble, Megger, Omicron, Dranetz, and SKF, ensuring compliance with NETA MTS/ATS and NFPA 70E standards while mentoring junior staff.

Qualifications

• NETA Level III or IV certification in good standing is required.
• 7+ years of hands-on electrical testing in medium/high voltage.
• Strong knowledge of NETA MTS/ATS standards and protective relays.

Responsibilities

• Perform acceptance, commissioning, and maintenance testing on electrical power systems up to 500kV.
• Conduct power system studies: short circuit, coordination, arc flash, and power quality analysis.
• Test and calibrate protective relays (electromechanical, solid-state, microprocessor).
• Perform insulation resistance, power factor, and contact resistance testing on transformers and switchgear.
• Interpret results and write engineering reports with findings and recommendations.
• Troubleshoot complex electrical failures in time-critical conditions.
• Mentor Level I/II technicians; act as technical lead on projects.
