Job summary

NSA's Linguists, known as Multidisciplined Language Analysts (MDLAs), support the SIGINT mission by analyzing foreign language materials, translating, and producing assessments for the Intelligence Community. Depending on skill and experience, MDLAs may enter LADP or be hired directly into analytic roles, with LADP offering 4–5 operational tours and combined classroom training.

Qualifications

• Minimum language proficiency of ILR level 2/2 in reading and listening for the target language.
• At least one year of professional work involving language tasks or related fields.
• Willingness to undergo language proficiency testing and related logistics.

Responsibilities

• Analyze, transcribe, and translate foreign language materials for SIGINT reporting and development.
• Engage with partners, enablers, and customers across the Intelligence Community.
• Mentor and coach other Language Analysts and ensure the technical health of the mission.
