Job summary

State of Georgia (Family and Children Services, Division of) is seeking an Eligibility Specialist Supervisor to oversee a statewide renewal team. The role focuses on supervising a unit that determines program eligibility for seniors, ensuring timely benefits and quality service.

The position emphasizes leadership, policy interpretation, and collaboration with agencies to maintain efficient operations within an extensive public assistance program.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED and four years of job-related customer contact/interaction experience and one year in a lead worker, team lead, or supervisory role.
• OR one year of experience at the lower level Eligibility Specialist 3 (SST072) or position equivalent.
• Two years of experience as an Eligibility Specialist 2 and/or 3 with GA DFCS.
• Gateway Eligibility System trained.

Responsibilities

• Provides direct supervision and support to assigned team/unit of Eligibility Specialists.
• Analyzes and assesses the effectiveness of services to customers and ensures outcome measures are achieved.
• Ensures agency compliance with policies, documentation, and reporting requirements.
• Develops a cooperative, team-oriented environment within units and with other agencies.
• Assesses staff performance and provides ongoing development and training.
• Interviews, hires, directs, trains, and evaluates employee performance; recommends disciplinary actions.
• Leads and administers a comprehensive system of customer support and public assistance.
• Performs other professional responsibilities as assigned.
