Job summary

McLeod County is seeking an Eligibility Worker to perform intake, determine eligibility for income maintenance programs, and assist clients in using agency and community resources. Under supervision, you will establish initial and ongoing eligibility and communicate program requirements for multiple programs.

You will conduct interviews, assess client needs, and provide referrals to services while maintaining data privacy and compliance with county, state, and federal guidelines.

Qualifications

• High school diploma plus two years of additional education and four years previous work experience in a related field.
• Or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to perform the essential functions of the job.
• Bachelor’s degree in behavioral sciences preferred.

Responsibilities

• Conduct eligibility interviews and determine eligibility for emergency, cash, food, child care, health care programs.
• Explain program requirements and assist participants in understanding eligibility rules.
• Prepare appeals and assist with program education and outreach.
