Job summary

NYC Department of Social Services seeks Eligibility Specialist III for HASA programs to conduct initial assessments, verify documentation, and determine eligibility for benefits. You will use WMS/POS/FACTORS and work with EVR, WINROO, and TADS to ensure accurate case processing.

You will prepare detailed case write-ups, coordinate with courts and landlords, and ensure timely budget preparation for benefit determinations under HASA and related public assistance programs.

Qualifications

• Completion of 30 semester credits at an accredited college or university, or
• A four-year high school diploma or its educational equivalent and one year of full-time satisfactory experience in eligibility work or related duties.
• Experience in interviewing, documenting information, and preparing necessary documentation for eligibility

Responsibilities

• Perform initial assessments and recertification interviews to document mandated information and verify documentation.
• Determine initial and continuing eligibility for HASA services using automated systems (WMS, POS, FACTORS).
• Prepare budgets to determine benefit amounts when household income varies.
• Review consumer data and enter client information into HASA databases and related systems.
