Job summary

Health & Human Services Commission (HHSC) AES division seeks an Eligibility Services Clerk to support a busy service-delivery office in Houston. The role involves processing applications, data entry, and answering client inquiries as part of the Access and Eligibility Services team.

Ideal candidates will have a High School diploma or GED, and experience in customer service. Bilingual skills are preferred to assist a diverse client base in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED is required.
• Experience in a professional customer service environment is preferred.
• 30 hours of college credit or 1 year of customer service experience is preferred.
• Bilingual (English/Spanish) is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Processes mail and dates stamps incoming applications and documents.
• Reviews applications for signatures, dates, and supporting documents.
• Logs applications and assigns them for processing.
• Returns incomplete applications and assists with completion when needed.
• Responds to client inquiries and requests for assistance.
• Maintains records and logs and handles data entry tasks.
