Health & Human Services Commission (HHSC) is hiring an Eligibility Services Clerk in Grand Prairie, TX. The role supports the AES division by processing mail, reviewing applications, and maintaining case files.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED equivalent is required.
• Thirty (30) hours credit from an accredited college or university OR one (1) year of customer service work experience is preferred.
• Bilingual (English / Spanish) skills preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provides a variety of clerical support services in a service delivery office. Provides clerical support to Eligibility Operations staff.
• Process mail, open and date stamp incoming applications and supporting documents. Review applications for required signature, date, and supporting documents.
• Log applications and assign complete applications for processing. Return incomplete applications to clients and assist with completion when necessary.
• Respond to client inquiries and requests for assistance. Maintain records and files; handle data entry and document handling.
• Must be able to work in a highly stressful and fast-paced environment and occasionally overtime.
