Job summary

The Arizona Department of Economic Security (DES) seeks an Benefits and Eligibility Specialist (Eligibility Interviewer) in Mesa, AZ. This on-site role focuses on determining eligibility for Nutrition, Medical, and Cash Assistance, with training and in-office collaboration to support Arizonans in need.

Key duties include interviewing clients, collecting information, entering data, and providing excellent service while meeting performance metrics.

Qualifications

• Experience in eligibility reviews or customer service is preferred.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist clients in-person and by phone to determine eligibility.
• Attend paid classroom training with on-the-job training.
• Provide excellent customer service to individuals and families.
• Collect information to conduct interviews for Medical, Nutrition, and Cash Assistance.
• Enter data and navigate multiple screens during interviews.
• Adhere to agency standards for accuracy, attendance, and timeliness.
