Job summary

The Department of Economic Security (DES) in Globe, Arizona is seeking a Benefits and Eligibility Specialist (Eligibility Interviewer) to determine eligibility for Nutrition Assistance, Medical Assistance, and Cash Assistance. This is an in-person, on-site position at the Globe Field Office.

You will receive classroom training with on-the-job training, provide customer service, gather information, and conduct interviews while navigating multiple screens.

Qualifications

• One year of experience performing eligibility reviews or one year of customer service.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Able to navigate multiple computer screens and software applications.
• Ability to determine eligibility for benefits.

Responsibilities

• Work in a fast-paced office environment assisting clients in-person and by telephone.
• Attend paid classroom training with on-the-job training.
• Provide excellent customer service to individuals and families facing challenging situations.
• Collect information to conduct interviews and determine eligibility for Medical, Nutrition, and Cash Assistance.
• Complete application and interview processes while entering data on a computer.
• Adhere to agency standards measured by metrics, attendance, service levels, accuracy, and timeliness.
