Job summary

Schindler Elevator Corporation in NYC is seeking a Field Superintendent - Modernization to lead field technicians on multiple modernization projects, ensuring schedule, budget, and safety standards are met.

You will coordinate scheduling, procurement, and logistics, track progress and labor, collaborate with sales, engineering, and PM teams, manage invoicing and change orders, and maintain positive relations with union representatives while coaching staff.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of technical leadership experience or elevator industry experience preferred.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in relevant field.
• Strong problem-solving, communication and interpersonal skills; ability to manage sensitive employee relations with proven leadership skills
• Proficiency in MS Office suite

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage field technicians across multiple projects.
• Coordinate scheduling, material procurement, and logistics.
• Track progress, labor allocation, and profitability.
• Collaborate with sales, engineering, project management and service teams.
• Manage project documentation, invoicing, change orders, and financial forecasting.
• Maintain relationships with union representatives; staffing and disciplinary actions.
