Job summary

Schindler Elevator Corporation in Houston seeks a Field Superintendent of Modernization to oversee elevator modernization projects, manage field technicians, and ensure safety, schedule, quality, and cost targets are met.

You will coordinate procurement, subcontractor work, and project documentation, while collaborating with sales, engineering, and service teams to deliver high-quality results on time and within budget.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of technical leadership experience or elevator industry experience preferred.
• Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent in relevant work experience in the elevator industry or related field.
• Strong problem-solving, communication and interpersonal skills; ability to manage sensitive employee relations with proven leadership skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage field technicians, overseeing multiple projects to ensure adherence to schedule, budget, and safety standards.
• Coordinate project scheduling, material procurement, and field logistics to maintain smooth operations and timely project completion.
• Track project progress and labor allocation to maximize efficiency and profitability.
• Collaborate with sales, engineering, project management, and service teams to deliver high-quality results.
• Manage project documentation including invoicing, change orders, and financial forecasting.
• Maintain positive relationships with union representatives and support staffing needs including hiring and disciplinary actions.
