Job summary

Schindler Elevator Corporation (U.S.) in Seattle, WA is seeking a Field Superintendent for Existing Installations (EI). You will oversee maintenance and service of assigned units, ensure safety and quality, and support sales with service orders and scheduling.

Supervisory duties include staff selection, training, and safety for projects. The role emphasizes safety, quality, and customer satisfaction, with a strong focus on union workforce management and liaison with IUEC agents.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree preferred or 3+ years of technical elevator industry experience.
• Experience in installation and service of elevators/escalators preferred.
• Supervisory experience with a unionized workforce is preferred.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Lotus Notes, and SAP preferred.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required.

Responsibilities

• Ensure maintenance meets quality standards and contract requirements.
• Implement quality, reliability, and passenger safety requirements for each project.
• Support sales in estimating service orders, scheduling, and resolving customer complaints.
• Manage project audit program to assure quality, completeness and safety.
• Develop manpower selection, training and performance appraisal programs.
• Implement route management to optimize preventive maintenance and manpower.
• Foster teamwork and dedication to quality improvement.
• Evaluate and request tooling to support productivity.
• Maintain pro-active relationships with local IUEC business agent.
