Job summary

The Charter Hotel Seattle is seeking a Sous Chef to assist in managing the kitchen, training staff, and maintaining quality in line with hotel standards. You will work closely with the Executive Chef to control costs and ensure consistent, high-quality food presentation.

You will supervise cooks and culinary staff, enforce sanitation standards, mentor team members, and coordinate with management to deliver exceptional guest experiences.

Qualifications

• Three years of experience in commercial kitchen/food and beverage.
• Six months of supervisory experience in kitchen/food & beverage.
• Food Handler's Card - must be state/county-specific.

Responsibilities

• Assigns duties to kitchen staff for efficient operation.
• Assist with staff scheduling to ensure coverage and budget control.
• Maintain quality and consistency of food products.
• Ensure compliance with health and sanitation standards.
• Train line cooks on standards and cost analysis.
• Handle guest issues and ensure guest satisfaction.
