Job summary

Minneapolis Public Schools is seeking an Elementary Teacher for Pillsbury Elementary (Kindergarten) for 2026-2027. This 1.0 FTE position (42 weeks) offers a full teaching load with a focus on rigorous, standards-aligned instruction and collaboration with peers and families.

You will apply Minnesota State Standards, foster inquiry-based learning, and contribute to a campus STEM team to ensure cross-disciplinary instructional quality.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university.
• Prior successful experience student teaching or teaching in an urban, multicultural education setting.
• Master's or PhD preferred.

Responsibilities

• Have working knowledge of Minnesota State Standards and District Graduation Requirements; knowledge of subject matter, classroom management techniques, current best practices, and diverse student needs.
• Teach curricula using strategies that foster thinking, reasoning and problem solving.
• Collaborate with peers to develop and implement best practices based on student needs.
• Assess developmental, cognitive and social needs and provide developmentally appropriate instruction.
• Create lessons and environments that are safe, respectful, and engaging while addressing diversity.
• Collaborate with families regularly and use community resources to support learning.
• Align with District Improvement Agenda and school goals; support site and school objectives.
• Participate in ongoing professional development through PDP and team activities.
