Job summary

Shakopee Public Schools is seeking an enthusiastic Elementary STEM Teacher to join the district’s elementary STEM team for the 2026-2027 school year. The role emphasizes hands-on STEM activities, student curiosity, and authentic learning designs to build critical thinking and problem-solving skills.

The ideal candidate will design an interactive STEM curriculum, deliver inquiry-based lessons, assess student learning, and lead extracurricular STEM clubs.

Qualifications

• Elementary Teaching License or Library Media Specialist License (K-12) required.
• Experience teaching elementary students, preferably in STEM education.
• Strong understanding of STEM concepts and ability to teach them effectively.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential.
• Ability to differentiate instruction to meet diverse learners' needs.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement an interactive STEM curriculum aligned with state standards and district goals.
• Deliver engaging inquiry-based lessons and integrate technology and coding.
• Assess student progress with formal and informal methods and provide feedback.
• Create a positive, inclusive classroom environment and support collaboration.
• Integrate technology to enhance learning and engage students in STEM topics.
• Participate in ongoing professional development and collaborate with staff and community partners.
• Organize and lead extracurricular STEM clubs and events, including a Science Fair.
