Job summary

Minneapolis Public Schools is seeking a PE Teacher for Elementary at Loring (2026-2027) on a 1.0 FTE temporary long-call basis. The role starts September 8, 2026 and may end TBD.

Responsibilities include delivering standards-aligned instruction and collaborating with the STEM team to ensure cross-disciplinary, high-quality instruction. The ideal candidate holds a Minnesota teaching license or pending licensure, with a Bachelor's degree and urban education experience; a Master's or PhD is

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university.
• Prior successful experience student teaching or teaching in urban, multicultural education setting.
• Demonstrated continued professional development.
• Master's or PhD preferred.

Responsibilities

• Have working knowledge of Minnesota State Standards and district graduation requirements.
• Teach curricula using strategies that foster thinking, reasoning and problem solving.
• Collaborate with peers to develop and implement best practices.
• Assess students' developmental and cognitive needs; provide appropriate instruction.
• Create safe, respectful, and engaging learning environments; be inclusive.
