Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited university.
• Prior successful experience student teaching or teaching in an urban, multicultural education setting.
• Master's or PhD preferred.
• Valid Minnesota teaching license; or proof of pending approved licensure.

Responsibilities

• Implement Minnesota standards and district graduation requirements; know subject matter, classroom management, and diverse student needs.
• Teach the required curricula using strategies that foster thinking, reasoning and problem solving.
• Collaborate with peers to plan and implement best practices.
• Assess students' developmental, cognitive and social needs and provide developmentally appropriate instruction.
• Create safe, respectful and engaging learning environments that address diversity and inclusion.
• Communicate regularly with families and use family/community resources to support learning.
• Support district Improvement Agenda and school goals.
• Participate in ongoing professional development through PDP and staff activities.
