Qualifications

• Knowledge of Gwinnett County Public Schools AKS curriculum and content.
• Able to integrate curriculum with GCPS policies and practices.
• Clear understanding of the teaching/learning process.
• Ability to infuse technology into instruction to enhance learning.
• Strong written and oral communication with staff, parents, students.
• Effective human relations and collaboration with stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Plan learning experiences based on AKS and create a conducive classroom environment.
• Demonstrate command of the subject being taught.
• Develop short and long-term instructional objectives from the AKS curriculum.
• Identify prerequisite skills and plan instruction to ensure mastery.
• Analyze student work and assessments to guide instruction.
• Prepare written lesson plans supporting AKS objectives for all students.
• Plan appropriate assessments of student learning.
• Evaluate and modify resources to match learner needs.
• Communicate learning objectives to students and connect to prior knowledge.
• Organize content logically and structure lessons with deliberate steps.
• Use scientifically researched instructional strategies to support learning.
• Provide formative and summative assessments and feedback to students and families.
• Organize the learning environment to maximize time on task.
• Maintain an orderly classroom and manage transitions and housekeeping duties.
• Maintain behavior conducive to learning and engage all students.
• Participate in professional growth and share ideas with colleagues.
• Maintain regular attendance and provide plans for substitute teachers.
