Job summary

Alpine School District seeks an Elementary SPED Resource Teacher to support Trailside Elementary students with Mild/Moderate disabilities. The role centers on implementing research-based interventions, writing IEP goals, and collaborating with general education teachers and related services to ensure progress toward IEP goals.

Under supervision, you will create a safe, engaging classroom, monitor progress, communicate with families, and participate in IEP meetings.

Qualifications

• SPED license and Mild/Moderate Disabilities endorsement required.
• Experience implementing IEP goals and behavior intervention plans.
• Ability to collaborate with general education teachers and related staff.
• Ability to write reports and communicate progress to parents.

Responsibilities

• Organizes developmentally appropriate learning opportunities to support student success.
• Adapts tasks to address individualized learning within curriculum.
• Assesses progress toward objectives and provides feedback to parents and admins.
• Communicates with parents about progress and goals.
• Directs assistant staff and paraeducators to support students.
• Collaborates with SPED teachers and related staff to deliver services per IEP.
• Manages student behavior to maintain a safe learning environment.
• Monitors preschool students in various educational settings.
• Models social and interpersonal skills.
• Prepares written materials for progress reporting.
• Attends IEP meetings as needed.
• Responds to emergencies to ensure safety.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
