Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree with appropriate license; or Master's Degree with appropriate content area license at high school level preferred and expected within 5 years.

Responsibilities

• Meets and instructs assigned classes in the locations and at times designated.
• Plans a program of study that meets individual student needs.
• Creates a conducive classroom environment for learning.
• Guides learning toward district curriculum goals and communicates clear objectives.
• Prepares for classes and shows written preparation upon request.
• Employs varied instructional techniques and media as appropriate.
• Assesses student progress and communicates with parents as needed.
• Maintains accurate records as required by policy and law.
• Diagnoses learning challenges and seeks district support as needed.
• Protects students, equipment, and facilities.
• Follows SPS conduct policies and develops fair classroom rules.
• Plans and supervises paraprofessional assignments and evaluations.
• Engages in ongoing professional growth and participates in teacher evaluation processes.
• Attends district meetings and participates in school activities.
• Contributes to district and school decisions regarding budget, facilities, and curriculum.

Education

Bachelor's Degree with appropriate license; or Master's Degree with appropriate content area license
