Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Meets and instructs assigned classes in designated locations and times.
• Plans a program of study that meets students' needs, interests, and abilities.
• Creates a classroom environment conducive to learning appropriate to students' maturity and interests.
• Guides learning toward district curriculum goals and communicates clear objectives for lessons and projects.
• Prepares for classes and provides evidence of preparation as required by contract.
• Employs varied instructional techniques and media suitable to location and student needs.
• Assess students' progress regularly and provide reports; communicate with parents as needed.
• Maintain accurate records as required by law and district policy.
• Diagnose learning challenges and seek district specialist assistance as needed.
• Protect students, equipment, and facilities with appropriate safety precautions.
• Follow district code of conduct and enforce classroom rules fairly.
• Plan and supervise assignments for paraprofessionals; provide written evaluations.
• Pursue ongoing professional growth in line with district requirements and personal goals.
• Participate in teacher evaluation processes and district meetings as scheduled.
• Attend school events (Back to School Night, Open House, etc.) as approved.
