Job summary

Springfield Public Schools (Massachusetts) invites applications for a licensed teacher in the PreK-8 range. The candidate will meet and instruct assigned classes, plan programs of study, and maintain an engaging classroom aligned with district goals.

We seek highly qualified educators with a valid Massachusetts license for Teachers of Students with Moderate Disabilities and a bachelor’s degree (master preferred).

Qualifications

• License in the specified content area and grade band (PreK-8) per MA DESE.
• Bachelor's Degree with appropriate license is required.
• Master's Degree with content area license preferred and/or expected within 5 years.

Responsibilities

• Meets and instructs assigned classes in the locations and at times designated.
• Plans a program of study that meets individual needs, interests, and abilities.
• Creates a classroom environment conducive to learning and appropriate to student maturity and interests.
• Guides learning toward district curriculum goals with clear objectives for lessons and projects.
• Maintains accurate records as required by law and district policy.
• Assesses student progress regularly and communicates with parents as needed.
• Takes part in the teacher evaluation process and attends district meetings.
