Job summary

Holly Area Schools is seeking a qualified Special Education Teacher to provide specially designed instruction to elementary students and collaborate with general education teachers to implement IEP goals.

The successful candidate will assess progress, chair IEPT meetings, and advocate for students on caseload while maintaining accurate records and aligning with state standards. Collaboration with Social Work for behavior plans is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Education from an accredited college or university.
• Current Michigan Teacher Certification, required.
• Current Michigan Special Education Teaching Certificate, preferred.
• Endorsement of CI or ASD, preferred.
• Provide Specially Designed Instruction to meet IEP goals.
• chair IEPT/MET meetings within required timelines.
• Coordinate with general education staff to align curricula with IEPs.
• Maintain accurate student records and reports.

Responsibilities

• Provide Specially Designed Instruction to meet individual IEP goals.
• Schedule, attend, and conduct MET and IEPT meetings within timelines.
• Orient instruction toward achieving IEP goals.
• Maintain student records and prepare required reports.
• Collaborate with Social Work staff on behavior plans.

• Demonstrate creativity to aid problem solving and higher-order thinking.
• Adapt general education curriculum for students with disabilities.
