Job summary

Applitrack is seeking a Special Education Teacher to provide instruction and support to elementary students eligible for special education in Michigan. You will work with general education teachers, assess progress, and update parents on student development.

You will develop IEP goals, chair IEPT meetings, and advocate for students on your caseload. The role reports to the Building Principal and involves collaborating to implement the prescribed curriculum.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Education required.
• Current Michigan Teacher Certification required.
• Current Michigan Special Education Teaching Certificate preferred.
• Endorsement CI or ASD preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide Specially Designed Instruction to meet IEP goals for each student.
• Schedule and participate in MET and IEPT meetings within timelines.
• Orient learning toward achieving specific IEP goals.
• Maintain accurate student records and prepare reports per regulations.
• Collaborate with Social Work staff on behavior plans and student support.
• Utilize evidence-based resources to deliver prescribed curriculum.
• Assist students with assessment and evaluation as required.
• Establish constructive relationships with staff, students, and parents.
