Job summary

ProCare Therapy is seeking an Exceptional Children Teacher for an elementary separate setting near Lincolnton, NC. This contract role runs 7:30am–3:00pm and supports a class of 10 students with two teacher assistants.

Qualifications

• Valid Special Education Teacher certification.
• Experience teaching in elementary special education settings, separate classrooms.
• Strong classroom management and individualized instruction skills.
• Ability to collaborate with teacher assistants and related service professionals.
• Commitment to advocacy and inclusion for children with diverse needs.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement IEPs tailored to each student's goals.
• Provide differentiated instruction in a structured separate classroom setting.
• Foster a positive, inclusive classroom environment that promotes social, emotional, and academic growth.
• Work closely with two teacher assistants to maximize student engagement and success.
• Communicate progress and collaborate with families and multidisciplinary teams.
• Maintain detailed records and documentation in compliance with school and district policies.
