Job summary

ProCare Therapy is seeking a Special Education Teacher for a contract role in an elementary and middle school setting in North Carolina. The position involves supporting students with diverse needs and coordinating with a dedicated support team to deliver tailored instruction.

Qualifications

• Valid Special Education teaching credentials (state certification required).
• Experience working with elementary and/or middle school students.
• Understanding of Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).
• Compassionate approach to students with medical and toileting needs.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement lesson plans tailored to each student's abilities and goals.
• Manage two caseloads: Elementary classroom with 6 students needing toileting support; Middle school classroom with 11 students including one with a feeding tube.
• Foster a positive, inclusive classroom environment.
• Collaborate with teaching assistants, a behavior technician, and classroom aides.
• Deliver specialized instruction and monitor ongoing progress.
• Maintain accurate documentation regarding student performance and support provided.
