Job summary

Birch Agency is seeking two dedicated Special Education Teachers to support students in Lincolnton, North Carolina. Roles are school-based in elementary and high school settings, with about 8 students per classroom and two teacher assistants.

Responsibilities include IEP development, differentiated instruction, progress monitoring, and collaboration with families and service providers to foster student growth and independence.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Special Education or related field.
• Active NC Special Education teaching certification required (or ability to obtain).
• Experience with students with moderate/severe disabilities or extended content standards preferred.
• Strong classroom management, communication, and collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement IEPs aligned with student goals and needs.
• Provide differentiated instruction for diverse learning needs.
• Deliver instruction in separate classrooms for elementary and high school.
• Manage a classroom caseload of ~8 students with 2 teacher assistants.
• Implement positive behavior supports and classroom management strategies.
• Monitor student progress and maintain documentation and records.
• Collaborate with general education teachers, related service providers, and families.
• Participate in IEP meetings and staff trainings.
