The School District of Lee County is seeking an information specialist for the Elementary level in Fort Myers, FL. The role focuses on data entry, student information management, and reporting within the district’s SIS environment.

Responsibilities include maintaining student records, generating reports, and ensuring compliance with FERPA and related regulations. Strong organizational skills and discretion are essential for handling confidential data and supporting school operations.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Two (2) years of related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of technical training and experience.
• Relevant work experience or education may be substituted to satisfy minimum qualifications.
• Knowledge of HIPAA, Public Records, Sunshine Law, FERPA, and other laws/regulations related to student and employee privacy, public information, and records retention.
• Knowledge of and experience with industry-standard equipment, materials, practices, computers, and applications.

Responsabilités

• Access, process, and transmit data to and from a central repository using district systems.
• Input, maintain, and verify student records and demographics in SIS and related systems.
• Enroll/withdraw/transfer students using local/state codes and generate informational reports.
• Update bell schedules, attendance, and grade data; ensure timely data updates.
• Produce calendars and schedules and generate required reports for administration.
• Maintain electronic and paper files for audit requirements and district compliance.
• Develop spreadsheets to support data analysis, funding impact, and program development.
• Assist with routine office tasks to ensure timely customer service.
