The School District of Lee County in Fort Myers, FL, seeks a Specialist, Safety and Security to help protect students and staff. The role supports campus security, monitors behavior, and ensures safe operations across district sites.

Starting date is To Be Determined; position is full-time with a 5-hour shift and 187 contract days. Requires vigilance, clear communication, and ability to respond swiftly in crises.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Valid Florida driver’s license is required.
• Valid Adult and Child First Aid/CPR/AED certificate (AHA/ARC) is required.

Responsibilities

• Implement campus security, policies, and practices as directed by supervisor.
• Monitor student behavior at school locations, including before and after school programs.
• Monitor employee and public behavior for security purposes while at District locations.
• Report any security deficiencies or potential problems to supervisor.
• Maintain, store, and retrieve information using standard office systems, equipment, and software.
• Screen and process the public and personnel upon entering or leaving the site.
• Assist in student discipline and monitor attendance per behavior management plans.
• Establish and maintain effective working relationships with District personnel, parents, students, and the public; work collaboratively as a team.
• Respect confidential information and the privacy of students, staff, and parents.
• If certified, administer First Aid/CPR/AED as needed per guidelines.
