Job summary

Buffalo/Rochester Academy of Science Charter School is seeking a Literacy Specialist to provide leadership and instructional support to improve literacy achievement across grade levels. Responsibilities

Assess students' literacy skills using formal and informal assessments to identify instructional needs.
Design and deliver targeted reading and writing interventions for individuals and small groups.
Collaborate with teachers to implement evidence-based literacy instruction and differentiated learning strategies.
Coach and mentor teachers on best practices in reading, writing, phonics, vocabulary, comprehension, and fluency instruction.
Analyze student assessment data to monitor progress and inform instructional decisions.
Support school-wide literacy initiatives aligned with curriculum standards.
Support MTSS/RTI implementation and deliver professional development for educators.
Collaborate with administrators, ELL staff and families to support student literacy growth.
Maintain records of student progress and prepare reports to guide instruction.
Promote a positive, inclusive learning environment that fosters a love of reading and writing.
