Job summary

New London Public Schools seeks an Elementary School Assistant Principal to join the leadership team. The role provides strategic oversight and operational management to sustain a high-achieving, innovative learning environment.

Reports to the Principal. Includes a 12-month administrative schedule with salary around $161,927 per year, and integration with district policies and magnet programs. Eligible for comprehensive benefits and professional development opportunities.

Qualifications

• Valid CT CSDE educator certificate with endorsement 092.
• Minimum of five (5) years of classroom teaching experience.
• Demonstrated experience in teaching or leading at the elementary school level.

Responsibilities

• Assist with overall school management including academic, co-curricular, magnet and support programs.
• Promote inclusive and diverse learning culture focusing on equity and growth.
• Establish annual school improvement goals and evaluate progress.
• Assist in managing building operations and scheduling.
• Work with instructional leaders on curriculum, magnet programming, budgets and staff assignments.
• Ensure ethical use of district funds and compliance with policies.
• Develop programs to encourage staff, student, parent involvement.
• Support staff growth and innovative teaching approaches.
• Participate in recruitment, selection and personnel decisions.
