Job summary

Norwalk Public Schools seeks an Assistant Principal for Silvermine Elementary School for the 2026-2027 school year. You will support the Principal in directing programs, staff supervision, and implementing BOE policies to ensure quality learning.

You will recruit and evaluate staff, coordinate curriculum, participate in Planning and Placement Team processes, and maintain clear communications with parents and the Central Office. This is a 12-month administrative role under the NASA contract.

Qualifications

• CSD Active Intermediate Administrator certification or eligibility.
• CSD Special Education or Related Services endorsement or certificate.
• Successful leadership experience in an educational setting.
• Experience with elementary school teaching or related services preferred.
• Alternatives to listed qualifications may be considered by the Superintendent.

Responsibilities

• Recruit, interview, and screen building staff; provide leadership in curriculum development.
• Direct supervision and evaluation of staff; monitor attendance and operations.
• Implement Board of Education policies and assist in master schedule development.
• Collaborate with special education and guidance departments; participate in planning teams.
• Communicate with parents and central office; lead school initiatives and committees.
