Great Hearts Blossom Rock Academy in Apache Junction, AZ seeks an Elementary Physical Education Teacher to inspire students through a classical liberal arts approach and a joyful, disciplined classroom.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher required for lead teaching role.
• Certification is not required for general education.
• All majors are welcome.

Responsibilities

• Teach assigned classes using the Great Hearts curriculum and materials, preparing thoughtful lessons and cultivating an orderly, joyful classroom that supports the pursuit of truth, goodness, and beauty.
• Provide appropriate academic support to students, monitor progress, and partner with school leadership to address academic or behavioral needs in a timely manner.
• Uphold and model the culture, policies, and expectations of Great Hearts, including dress code, conduct, and safety procedures, contributing to a respectful and orderly school environment.
• Communicate clearly and professionally with families, initiating conferences as needed and fostering strong home-school partnerships.
• Participate fully in the life of the academy through faculty collaboration, school events, assigned duties, and a shared commitment to ongoing professional growth and excellence in teaching.

Physical Education at Great Hearts:

• All Great Hearts Elementary School students take Physical Education.
• The goal of the Physical Education class is to promote boththe physicalhealth and the growth in virtue of each student.
• Rigorous and joyful PE classes have a combination ofstrength andcardio exercises, training in the basics of sports, and discussions on the virtues, including fortitude, temperance, prudence, and justice.
• Sports include baseball, soccer, volleyball, football, and basketball.
