Great Hearts Blossom Rock Academy in Apache Junction, AZ is seeking an Elementary Physical Education teacher who can inspire healthy minds and virtuous habits through active, values-based PE lessons.

You will deliver the Great Hearts curriculum, foster teamwork and fitness, uphold high classroom standards, and collaborate with families and school leaders to support student growth.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Education or related field.
  • US work authorization required.
  • Certification not required for general education.
  • All majors welcome.

Physical Education at Great Hearts

All Great Hearts Elementary School students take Physical Education.

The goal of the Physical Education class is to promote both the physical health and the growth in virtue of each student.

Rigorous and joyful PE classes have a combination of strength and cardio exercises, training in the basics of sports, and discussions on the virtues, including fortitude, temperance, prudence, and justice.

Sports include baseball, soccer, volleyball, football, and basketball.

Roles and Responsibilities

Teach assigned classes using the Great Hearts curriculum and materials, preparing thoughtful lessons and cultivating an orderly, joyful classroom that supports the pursuit of truth, goodness, and beauty.

Provide appropriate academic support to students, monitor progress, and partner with school leadership to address academic or behavioral needs in a timely manner.

Uphold and model the culture, policies, and expectations of Great Hearts, including dress code, conduct, and safety procedures, contributing to a respectful and orderly school environment.

Communicate clearly and professionally with families, initiating conferences as needed and fostering strong home-school partnerships.

Participate fully in the life of the academy through faculty collaboration, school events, assigned duties, and a shared commitment to ongoing professional growth and excellence in teaching.

Required/Preferred Education

Bachelor's or higher degree is required for a lead teaching role.

Certification is not required for general education.

All majors are welcome.

US work authorization is required, but we do accept OPT/CPT candidates.

Employment is contingent upon successful completion of a criminal history background check and fingerprint clearance in accordance with state requirements.

Travel required: May need to travel locally for training and professional development opportunities.
