Job summary

Kamiak Elementary School in Pullman, WA seeks Core+ Paraeducators to begin the 2026-2027 school year. Under the direction of the Building Principal and Core+ Teacher, you will assist with math, reading, reading readiness and writing skills and support students with disruptive behaviors.

This part-time paraeducator role requires 2 years of college or an associate degree or ParaPro/related certification, strong clerical and computer skills, and the ability to lift 25 lbs.

Qualifications

• Completed at least 2 years of study (72 quarter credits or 48 semester credits) at an institution of higher education.
• Evidence of in-service training and/or successful experience working with elementary students.
• Clerical and computer skills to record data, prepare progress reports, type reports, answer emails, etc.
• Instructional skills in the content areas of math, reading, and writing.
• Ability to lift 25 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Assist in creating relationships and learning environments conducive to learning.
• Provide encouragement and achievement of educational objectives defined by certificated staff; assist in administering objective tests or other measurements.
• Under the guidance of the certified staff, assist in delivery of educational services to students in reading, reading readiness, writing, behavior and math including assessment, planning, and management of student records and materials.
• Communicate with certificated staff concerning individual student progress; adjust methods to meet the needs of a wide variety of students; consult with certificated staff concerning remediation or enrichment activities.
• Assist certificated staff in maintaining records, logs, charts, assignments and other records for assessment of student progress.
• Instruct academically "at risk" students individually or in small groups in a variety of learning activities to promote student understanding of materials presented.
