Qualifications

• Basic WA State Para qualifications and experience with children.
• Be at least eighteen years of age and hold a high school diploma or its equivalent.
• Two years of study at an institution of higher education (72 quarter credits or 48 semester credits), or have obtained an associate’s degree or have successfully passed the Para Pro Assessment.

Responsibilities

• Assist students exhibiting behavior and social-emotional actions to improve academic achievement.
• Assist teacher with designing, planning, and delivering lessons and activities to increase positive behavior.
• Supervise students at recess, in the cafeteria, and in the library.
• Collect student behavioral data and participate in Behavior Support Team meetings.
• Maintain confidentiality of student information.
• Participate in meetings and training to support school initiatives and student needs.
