Job summary

VetJobs is seeking an AMSTI Elementary Math Specialist in Huntsville, AL to coach and support teachers, lead professional learning sessions, and collaborate with AMSTI leaders to strengthen math instruction across K-5. The role emphasizes data-driven planning, site-level coordination, and ongoing development of resources and training programs.

The successful candidate will have a Master's in Education, current teaching certification, and proven experience in delivering effective math

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Education is required.
  • Experience developing data-driven lessons for teachers is required.
  • Expertise in presenting workshops and training.
  • Expertise in writing workshops for adult learners.
  • Proficient in Google Suite.
  • Current Teacher's Certification required.
  • Valid driver's license is required.
  • Knowledge of the Alabama Course of Study: Mathematics.

Responsibilities

  • Facilitate and/or participate in professional learning for teachers and administrators.
  • Provide ongoing professional coaching to AMSTI lead teachers, facilitators, and instructional coaches.
  • Collaborate with the Site Director and other specialists to plan training and materials.
  • Gather and analyze data to identify LEA training needs and tailor support.
  • Maintain records and complete paperwork as required.
  • Coordinate AMSTI resources and materials for site-level needs.
  • Participate in professional development to stay current in math instruction and AMSTI practices.
  • Support school-wide STEM activities and AMSTI outreach efforts.
