Job summary

Athens State University seeks an AMSTI and AMSTI-ASIM Content Specialist for K-5 Math to support professional learning and classroom coaching. The role emphasizes collaboration with AMSTI leadership, teachers, and administrators across Alabama systems.

Preferred candidates hold 5+ years of public-school teaching in the subject area, AMSTI training, and strong communication and organizational skills to drive instructional improvements and site-level planning.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of teaching experience in the subject area and grade level in an Alabama public school.
  • AMSTI and/or AMSTI-ASIM training current and aligned to the subject area/grade span.
  • Knowledge of PC systems and a variety of software.
  • Skill in time and project management.
  • Ability to communicate effectively (oral, written, interpersonal).
  • Creative/problem-solving mindset with teamwork and service.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities.
  • Ability to move at least 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

  • Facilitate and participate in professional learning for teachers and administrators.
  • Develop and maintain pre-approved professional learning opportunities and resources.
  • Provide ongoing professional learning to AMSTI lead teachers, facilitators, and coaches.
  • Assist with planning/pre-service education and outreach activities.
  • Coordinate work with AMSTI site director and communicate with stakeholders.
