Job summary

San Francisco Unified School District (SFUSD) is hiring an Instructional Aide – Elementary Basic Skills on a part-time, school-term basis in San Francisco. The role supports kindergarten through elementary students in math, reading, science, social studies and writing, under supervision and with planned lessons.

The strongest candidates will assist in maintaining discipline, support small groups, administer tests, and manage instructional materials and equipment.

Qualifications

• Associates Degree or higher OR 48 college units and a High School Diploma.
• Passing of CBEST and a High School Diploma OR passing of the Instructional Aide Exam and a High School Diploma.
• Strong communication and classroom management skills.
• Ability to work with diverse student populations.

Responsibilities

• Assists in planning lessons and preparing instructional materials.
• Supervises and tutors individuals or small groups in specific skill areas.
• Explains subject matter, administers tests, and maintains pupil portfolios.
• Maintains records for instructional equipment and supplies.
