Job summary

San Francisco Unified School District is seeking an Instructional Aide – Elementary Basic Skills to support students across kindergarten through elementary grades. You will help implement core curriculum and assist in lesson planning, small-group tutoring, and learning activities.

Qualifications

• Education: Associate degree or higher, or 48 college units with a high school diploma.
• Substitution options include CBEST with a high school diploma or the Instructional Aide Exam with a diploma.
• Cantonese fluency is required.

Responsibilities

• Assist in planning lessons and preparing instructional materials.
• Supervise and tutor pupils in math, reading, science, social studies and writing.
• Explain subject matter, administer tests, review and correct assignments, and maintain pupil profiles.
• Prepare and maintain instructional equipment and supplies and manage records.
• Help maintain classroom discipline and assist in behavior management.
