Job summary

The San Francisco Unified School District is seeking an Instructional Aide – Elementary Basic Skills in San Francisco. This temporary, part-time role supports kindergarten through elementary students by assisting in planning lessons, tutoring, and maintaining learning materials.

The position offers an hourly salary of $34.25 - $40.07, benefits, and requires an Associates Degree or 48 college units with a high school diploma, or CBEST/Instructional Aide Exam under substitution rules.

Qualifications

• An Associates Degree or higher OR 48 college units and a High School Diploma
• Passing CBEST and a high school diploma OR passing the Instructional Aide Exam and a High School Diploma

Responsibilities

• Assists in planning lessons and preparing instructional materials.
• Supervises and tutors groups in specific skill areas and conducts planned lessons.
• Explains subject matter, administers tests, reviews and corrects assignments, and maintains pupil profiles.
• Prepares and maintains instructional equipment and supplies, and manages records.
• Maintains classroom discipline and supports behavior management.
• Monitors halls and common areas as needed.
• Renders first aid and reports incidents to supervisors.
• Publicizes educational development programs and performs related duties.
