Job summary

San Francisco Unified School District is seeking an Instructional Aide – Elementary Basic Skills to support kindergarten through elementary students by implementing the core curriculum in math, reading, science, social studies and writing.

A minimum of an Associate Degree or higher (or 48 college units with a high school diploma) plus CBEST or equivalent credential is required, along with strong classroom management and solid communication skills to collaborate with teachers, staff and families.

Qualifications

• Associates degree or higher or 48 college units with a high school diploma.
• Passing CBEST or Instructional Aide Exam with high school diploma.
• Ability to supervise and tutor students in basic skill areas.
• Strong classroom management and behavior support.
• Strong data analysis and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist in planning lessons and preparing instructional materials.
• Supervise and tutor students in skill areas in classroom or other locations.
• Explain subject matter, administer tests, and review assignments; maintain pupil profiles.
• Maintain instructional equipment and supplies and keep records.
• Maintain classroom discipline and enforce rules; assist in behavior management.
• Monitor halls, cafeteria, yard, and other areas as needed.
